I'm originally from Newry - just over the border! Currently living in Edinburgh, but may very well be in Ireland in September - would love to come if I can!
Hi everybody, I'm new around here, so this could not only be fun for me, it might even be useful. :) If you need a hand with organizing, just give me a shout, would be happy to help.
I'd love to come (have just moved back to Dublin from Germany) I'm on a flying visit to Germany that weekend. But could anyone let me know if any kind of regular meeting comes out of it? Would love to meet translators in Dublin. Have fun! Sorcha

Hi,
I am glad to see there are people interested in attending and assisting with the POWWOW. I have never been to one myself, so I thought it would be a good idea to organize one. I can do with some help in the organization, so Tony, thank you very much for offering it! . Annette, don't worry about not being able to help. ;o)
Looking forward to hearing from you and your suggestions.

So, where should we meet?
Jun 18, 2004
Hi everybody, it seems like we might have a good number of people for the Powwow!. Where would people like to meet. I was thinking of a kind of informal meeting, let's say meet for lunch, coffee or drinks (the realy "Irish way" ;o)) Or maybe someone has a better idea?
Let me know what you think
Cheers, María María

Irish way sounds good

Yes I think a pub that's not too noisy would be a good place to meet and have a chat.

Hi everyone, does anyone have any preferences with regard to pubs/restaurants? Personally, I don't mind as long as it is not in Temple Bar!! I was thinking that we could go to one of the following 1)Chief O'Neills in Smithfield,D7 2)The Vaults, IFSC, D1 3)MacTurcaills, Townsend St, D2 4)Smiths, Abbey St, D1 5) The Pembroke bar, Pembroke st, D2

these are just suggestions, if you guys have other preferences, please share. I think we need to decide on a venue in the next cpl of weeks, it won't be long until the 1st Dublin Powwow Orla ▲ Collapse

Howya Orla, From the list above, I think that The Pembroke Bar is the best - especially if we can get the upstairs bit, if it is still there. Chief O'Neills is also good venue in terms of space and we could then go on to the Dice Bar if that's what people want to do. regards Paul Larkin

Hi!
Sorry I have left you all a bit abandoned, but I am mad, mad busy at work at the moment, working weekends and everything!( I agree with Paul. I think the Pembroke bar would be a good place to meet.
Besides, is there anything in particular people would like to talk about? Or do you just prefer meeting and seeing how it goes?

the split
Aug 16, 2004
given that it is an Irish pow wow, why dont we discuss the first split into warring begrudging factions. As long as I am the leader of my faction, I really dont mind....
