ProZ.com Meetups are a way to network, communicate, share and have fun with other language professionals.
Meetups will take place in Remo, a platform for networking which simulates a conference floor with tables for up to six people. You can (and are encouraged to) change tables and interact with different people as if you were in an in-person event.
Each Meetup will have a theme, so be sure to check back here regularly to see if one catches your eye!
ProZ.com Meetups are open to all paying members on ProZ.com, whether they are Professional members or Business members.
While the Meetup is in “pre-registration” phase, you need to click the button to save your seat on Remo, the platform that is used for these encounters. You will be able to save your seat and you’ll receive a reminder when it’s time to join.
If the Meetup is undergoing (when the counter hits zero), you need to click on the “Join Meetup” button and you’ll be taken directly to the Remo page to join the event.
To join the Meetup or pre-register you’ll need to enter an email and password to create a Remo account. When you create your account you can complete your business card with all the relevant information that you might wish to share with the other people joining. Adding your contact details here is a great way to make sure the people you meet will be able to add you on LinkedIn or other social media to keep in touch after the Meetup.
Yes. Events on Remo allow up to 200 people to join at once.
Pre-registering for a Meetup, that is, saving a seat in Remo, means that you register to get notifications for the Meetup right before it starts, but please note that this doesn't guarantee you a spot.
Remo allows more users than the actual event capacity to register, but once the event is underway and reaches 200 participants, you will see an “Event Full” message.
So if even if you have pre-registered, be sure to be at the event right at the start to be able to join!
Yes. You can check if your device is compatible here and you can check your microphone, speakers and camera here.
Head to your Notification settings (Other notifications) and make sure to turn on the option to receive notifications about events (virtual and in your area).
