Doesn't display outsourcer details in the form! Apr 14, 2011

I really appreciate this form and your efforts to make it better.
So here's my two pence.

I find it very annoying that:
1) I go to the ad and I am able to see the ad and the poster's name, e.g. John Doe
2) I click on "submit quote" and I am taken to the form page
3) But when I am in the form page, on the bottom of the page the outsourcer's details are not displayed because the system says "you have to be registered to see the outsourcer's details". I am regis

Thus every time I have to re-open the ad in another window, so that I can read the name of the person I should address my application to (John Doe).
I like to address my quote to the poster and to start with "Dear Mr. Doe,...."

btw - I am using Chrome

Not sure if it belongs here but I followed the link: Jul 15, 2011

Hi,

I just discovered that on the new form for submitting a quote I no longer see ... the actual price field! Which makes it pretty much impossible to submit a quote

The fields in the pricing section start with tick boxes for language pairs then go straight to the unit, currency and notes fields without the actual value field.

Am I the only one to see this behaviour and what can I do about it

Am I the only one to see this behaviour and what can I do about it? The old form accessed through the link there still works fine so it's not a critical issue for now but, if you remove that link in the future, it will be (for me at least).

I see this behaviour (exactly the same) in both FireFox 5.0 and Safari 5.0.5 browsers.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

In fact, the field for the price only comes up after you click to select a language pair, and only for that language pair. I use Microsoft Internet Explorer, which doesn't cause much trouble on Proz.

For quite a while already, my favorite, though ancient Netscape 7.2 doesn't work any more on many parts of Proz. It will take many years before FireFox, and especially Thunderbird rise to the level of reliability and performance Netscape 7.2 had in its days. Yet they are all from the same Mozilla.

It would be nice to e-mail a copy to myself Jul 27, 2011

I saved a link to the page, but when I clicked on it, the form was empty.
There is no facility to send oneself a copy so that one has a record of what has been quoted.
I know it may be possible to access it on the site some other way, but I like to have it in my emails.
Please could you consider providing this functionality or alternatively some way that we could link to a page containing the data.
Many thanks,

Browniz points! Aug 12, 2011

Hello team, is the option to pay for a quote with Browniz Points still available or was it deleted?
I can only see: 1 U$ and "add money".
I checked in FAQs and the option still exists there.
Can you help?

The Spanish version of the Frequently Asked Questions has not been updated to reflect the changes Aug 12, 2011

Hello Paola,

I'm sorry, but it seems that the Spanish version of the FAQs has not been updated yet. I confirm that it is no longer possible to pay for a job quote with browniz. In the English version of the question you quoted, http://www.proz.com/faq/3145#3145 , this is clear:

2.21 - Do I have to pay to quote? [Direct link]

If you are a non-member, you can deposit money in your ProZ.com Wallet and each quote will be charged against it. It costs $1 per quote.

ProZ.com members have access to unlimited, free quoting.

Note: Until January 1st, 2010, non-members could also use browniz points to quote for jobs (100 points per quote). However, after the aforementioned date, non-members need to pay $1, from their ProZ.com wallets, for the right to quote.

I will have the Spanish version of the FAQs updated to reflect the change in the system. Thanks for pointing it out.

Best regards,
Alejandro

Incredible for 2 things:

- Site managers/engenieers should have access to everything and, under written request, be able to reactivate a quote.....everybody can mistake

- When I deleted it nothig (no box, no rollover o something else) advised me that it was no possible to requote.....

- NO advise that for ANY kind of change to use the note's box at the bottom.

Furthermore, from my quoting list I see it as deleted...ok I deleted, BUT if I check the job page, I still se it as active....no different colour, no message: "your quote has been deleteded" or something like that!
Something seem to work not in a perfect way....

Tha girl of the staff who asnwerd me is very kind.....but kindness doesn't solve real technical bugs. d

In the quoting form the option: Change my quote /Delete my quote could be usefull.
(Not everybody reads FAQ line by line....)

Regards,

Daniela

Preview should be an option Oct 7, 2011

When you have submitted a few hundred quotes, Preview is an nunnecessary step. Please add a Submit quote on the first quote page.
