Dear colleagues,
Has someone of you experience of Wordfast 5.5 (last actual version) on MS Office 2007 Enterprise? All my setting are done accordingly, (VBS is granted, All macros are allowed), utb nevertheless MS Word 2007 keeps the plug-in blocked. I have to turn back to MS Office 2003, where no such issues occur.
Than you in advance for you relevant answers!
Mihail
P.S. My OS is Windows XP Pro SP2. (The machine is HP Compaq nw8440)

I had the same problem with Word 2007. I have had to reinstall Word 2003 on my computer for this reason and several others.
Word 2007 cannot open documents in some earlier versions of Word and you cannot scan directly into a document in 2007. I work on a lot of manuals with graphics and I need to scan the diagrams into my documents and can't do it in 2007.

Has anyone found a way (even long-winded) of doing what used to be called a "file search" (beautiful addition to 2003) with 2007. They have removed the option as "it was little used" (obviously they didn't get feedback from ecstatic memory-challenged translators) and say that it has been "rendered obsolete by the new search functions". Obviously they don't say which or even give a clue, as that would be toooooo easy.
nrr Local time: 02:42 English to Spanish I managed to use Word Fast on MS Office 2007 | May 6, 2007 |
On Microsoft Word in the Add-Ins menu right clik and choose "Costumize quick Access tool bar"
go to Add-Ins and at the bottom of the menue "Manage:" choose "Word Add-ins" and press "Go.."
From the "templates" menu Attach the "Document template" "wordfast.dot" from where ever you keep it
Now the tool bar appears on the add-ins main menu of Word
and you should be able to use it
I hope this helps
cheers

I have been using Word 2007 under Vista since February last.
My version of Wordfast is 5.25.

- Go to Word Options.
- Go to Trust Center of Word
- check: Enable all macros....
- check: Trust Access to VBA ...

By the way, I think I could live quite well without Word 2007. Just takes extra time finding everything and working out how to turn off all the "smart" features that keep getting in the way of my workflow. I haven't really come across any benefits yet.
Regards,

Windows Vista | May 30, 2007 |
For those who are ready to use Windows Vista:
Do not forget to FIRST switch off User Account Control (UAC), that is to say: UNCHECK this item.
Otherwise you may be blocked all the time.
Good luck

It worked! I can't believe it, but I'm up and running with Wordfast. Holy Moley! Thanks. Guy Champollion, I just bought your product at full price because a user showed me how to make it work on Word 2007!

Have you selected, ticked off and/or reorganized an existing glossary?

user607536 (X) Poland Local time: 02:42 English to Polish + ... Now it shows up but it's very small | Apr 11, 2008 |
I did it and without any effect. What helped me however was diabling Google Desktop keyboard shortcuts in windows registry. Now when I press ctrl+alt+g on a term that is stored in a glossary a small (1,5 cm in length) toolbar appears :-|
Is there any way to expand it permamently?
Cheers,
