Emiatt az ellenőrzés mind a szakasszisztens,
mind az orvos részéről speciális képzést, szakismereteket
és szakambulanciát igényel. A készülékekbe beépített
diagnosztikus funkciók az ellenőrzések során
lekérdezhetők. Az eseményjelző (event marker), az intrakavitális EKG (EGM), a SVES, VES számlálás, a hisztogram
a spontán (fiziológiás, patológiás) frekvenciatrend
detektálásában, illetve az optimális frekvenciaválasz
beállításában játszik szerepet. Pitvari ritmuszavar
észlelésekor a felső frekvenciahatár (UTRL) mérséklése,
illetve automatikus üzemmód-váltás történik. A tárolt
EGM-ritmuszavar bizonyítéka lehet és jelezheti a
reszinkronizáció CRT hatékonyságát is (1. ábra).
Ezen kívül adatok nyerhetők: a telep kimenő teljesítményéről,
a felhasznált energiamennyiségekről (energiatakarékos
beállítás). A telepkimerülést a készülék
belső ellenállás emelkedésével jelzi (RRT, ERT, ERI)

"A cardiac event monitor is a device used to monitor patients with transient cardiac symptoms. There are two broad classifications for Cardiac Event Monitors, Manual (or dumb) and Automatic. Automatic ECG Event monitors such as the Novacor R.Test Evolution recorder has the ability to monitor the patients ECG and make recordings of abnormal events without requiring patient intervention. Manual ECG event recorders require patient to be symptomatic and to activate the device to cause a recording to be made, this makes these devices useless whilst, for example, the patient is sleeping. An example is the Transtelephonic Cardiac Event Monitor, this monitor contacts ECG technicians, via telephone, on a regular basis transmitting ECG rhythms for ongoing monitoring.
