Description Translators' Association of China (TAC), a national academic society, was founded in 1982. It is a federation of translators' associations (societies) at government departments, provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China. Its purpose is to unite and organize Chinese translators to undertake study and research and to exchange information in order to improve their professional proficiency and better their service to the nation's reform and opening-up drive as well as its socialist modernization programs. TAC also aims to protect the legal rights and interests of translators and interpreters.
