Hi,
I use Norton 360, Comodo Firewall and Avg Free, I've also used Antivir and Zone Alarm in the past and all of them never had problems with Translation Office 3000, which is my "vital" program

I must add that I installed on my Vaio the trial version of Kaspersky suite and my pc crashed with a blue screen which was caused by Translation Office 7.
I had to uninstall the program and I upgraded to 8, but I got rid of Kasperky anyway since this made me lose some recent data.
I hate when a security suite causes me problems
Hope this might help you.
Regards

For the record, AVG released a FREE version of the AVG Professional, not the regular free edition of AVG. The free version will last until the end of 2008 and it has the same features as the regular Pro version that costs $30. I know, many people say you can get something as good as McAfee at no cost, or that it is not such a great security suite. The occasional complicated software (for example, Nuance OmniPage) requires that I disable my antivirus/firewall during the installation, but that's about it.
I have been using TO3000 v7 ever since it's been around, and it has never had any problems with McAfee. If you are looking to improve your products so that they run better with antivirus software, I think it is safe to assume that you don't need to zoom in on McAfee. I don't remember because it's been too long, but I believe the only time McAfee ever displayed a message about TO was when I ran it on this computer the first time - it was only asking if I trusted TO to go on the internet. Once you confirm this, it never bothers you again. ▲ Collapse | | | Avast 4.7 Pro - looking for firewall | Feb 4, 2008 |
I have been using Avast 4.7 pro for the last three years and I am really happy about it. However, I don't use a firewall and I would like to get one. I tried in the past to use Zonealarm, but it would block all my Internet traffic, so I disposed of it. Does any of you use Comodo with Avast on Windows XP? Would you recommend it? | | | MGL Netherlands Local time: 08:31 Russian to English Kaspersky here | Feb 4, 2008 |
I have Kaspersky Internet Security v7 and no problems with my TO3000 software.

you can also use virtualbox at http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads, instead of vmware.
or you can do it other way around, i.e., use other os other than windows, and use virtual machine to run windows. | | | Samuel Murray Netherlands Local time: 08:31 Member (2006) English to Afrikaans + ... What I use... | Feb 5, 2008 |

Antivirus:
I use AVG on my one machine, and ClamWin on my other. Both are very good, except that ClamWin doesn't scan a file right before you open it.
Firewall:
I use Commodo, but I'm seriously considering removing it because it is very paranoid and often deliberately forgetful. If you can get your hands on Kerio firewall (abandonware), it is an excellent program. If you can't find Kerio, ZoneAlarm is not too bad either (having used it before I discovered Kerio).
