Bio
Born in France, where I spent the first 23
years of my life, I moved to the Netherlands in 1983 and have been
happily living here ever since. I quickly immersed myself in Dutch,
studying at the University of Utrecht, followed by Translation and
Interpreting at COCTV in Utrecht. Since 1992, I have been a freelance
translator, working from Dutch and English to French. I translate in
several fields, including:
Art
& Culture: Books about artists, museum catalogues and audio guides,
specialized press articles, CD booklets (especially classical music) Human Rights: Reports, correspondence, websites, brochures, flyers
Environment and Sustainability: Guidance reports, international meeting reports, books, press articles, mailings
Agriculture and horticulture Intergovernmental Relations & International Organisations: Reports, correspondence, Terms of Use, guidelines
Human Sciences: Scientific papers, reports, specialized press articles
I
love bridging the gap between cultures, translating captivating novels,
enlightening exhibition-goers, and conveying the messages of
international organisations and companies. Over the years, I have honed
my literary translation skills through various training programs at the
Dutch Centre of Expertise for Literary Translation (ELV) and workshops
in Amsterdam and Paris. Accredited by the Dutch Foundation for
Literature and the Flemish Literature Fund, I have had the pleasure of
translating both fiction and nonfiction books since 2012. I also offer
transcreation services. In addition to my freelance work, I serve as a
part-time in-house translator for the Dutch government, having worked
for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality from 1996 to
2015 and for the Ministry of Defence since 2015. Furthermore, I have
been working for the United Nations since 1996.
