I am a native speaker of English, specialising in the translation of texts from German, French and Spanish on advertising, media, press releases, art, music, tourism, travel, TV, film, literature, sport, athletics, recreation and food.
I had the benefit of early exposure to languages as my mother is German, my father British, and my extended family includes many German- and Spanish-speakers. My degree in French and German focused in particular on literature and the arts, interests which I retain and which are still reflected in my choice of work and leisure pursuits.
My job at the Royal Academy of Arts required me to liaise with journalists and film crews from around the world, whilst my work with Harrison Parrott and One Stage brings me into contact with musicians and musical texts. I maintain a keen interest in contemporary art and am a dedicated and experienced amateur musician.
My passion for accuracy and precision in language, together with my teaching experience, led to my selection as a freelance editor of the British government's 2008 Schoolsweb enterprise, a major re-working of the educational website for the Department for Children, Schools and Families. I also published an article in the journal of the Association for Language Learning on teaching languages to visually impaired children.
My translation work reflects my wealth of experience in language-related fields and I pride myself on accuracy, fluency and reliability.
