Born in Colombia, South America, a third generation member of an immigrant family from the United States, I started my interest in translations at about eight years of age, trying to understand the National Geographic Magazines I found at my grandfather's home library (he was a Civil and Mines Engineer.)

Raised within an international environment, getting accustomed to foreign people and languages, which stirred further interest in understanding more of them, was simply natural. School time was very much in the same international, multicultural environment. National and international traveling, as well as exposure to different disciplines, industries, fields of work and trades, provided a broader view of the surrounding environment.

After getting married, a more stable career was in order. 6 years of college later, now involved in the tourism development and planning profession, I focused in the development of Special Interest Tourism towards Colombia.

Unfortunately, the incresingly difficult and unstable political and humanitarian circumstances there forced another switch in careers. The change, going back to the use of the languages I had so much strengthened with the experience acquired, turned out to be a pleasant and enriching opportunity to help others to understand and enjoy their own world.
