Bio
Professor Akça was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He received BS, MS and Ph.D.degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1999, 2002 and 2006, respectively. He then did a post-doctoral fellowship in materials science at Czech Technical University in Prague. His current research focuses on biomedical applications of materials and artificial intelligence. Currently, he is occupied in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering as an associate professor and he is one of the Mendeley Advisors in Turkey. He teaches Materials Science, Non-destructive Testing, Heat Treatment, Biopolymers, Production of Biomedical Materials, Principles of Design and Materials for Defense Industry.
