At the beginning of my career I've worked as free-lance translator and interpreter mainly for private companies in the fashion and agro-industry, as well as a science translator for RCS Periodics.
When I was appointed as head of the international relations office of the University of Oriental Studies I had to cope with education issues, EU documents and international cooperation matters. As part of my job I had to translate official documents and manage international cooperation agreements.
Later on, I entered a PhD course in linguistics focusing on computational issues and I've started to deal with IT matters, software programming and algorithm developing.
A job as editor assistant for a peer-reviewed journal has given me the insight into issues I had not considered before.
Therefore, I feel very familiar with fields like International Cooperation, EU law, IT, Linguistics, Education, Social Science.
A long-term cooperation with an engineering consultant firm mainly working in the industrial design and civil plants, has given me the experience to deal with engineering matters as well. All my translations are proofread by a professional engineer.
In the last 15 years I've spent almost all my free time sailing and racing on different boats. As often happens, this passion has ended up becoming part of my job. I've started translating notices of race, class rules, boat papers, boat sale agreements and similar for myself and for my friends, but now it represents the 50% of my workload.
I also strongly cooperate with other translators for big projects and with mother-tongues for documents proofreading and consistency checking.
