Abdulkadir Abubakar Zailani is a professional English Hausa and Hausa English translator, he is currently a Lecturer and Undergraduate Adviser in the department of Nigerian Languages and Linguistics, Kaduna State University, Kaduna-Nigeria. He had his PhD in Linguistics from Department of Linguistics and Foreign Languages, Bayero University, Kano-Nigeria, with a title “A Study of Communication Strategies in Hausa Request Act”. He received 2020 ASR Prize for the Best Africa-based Doctoral Dissertation Award, from African Studies Association.  

Zailani had numerous publications in peer-review academic journals, among which is “Politeness in the Hausa Uwar Gulma Play”. He teaches Language and Linguistics courses, supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is also a Member, Postgraduate Board, Department of Nigerian Languages and Linguistics, Member Linguistics Association of Nigeria and Member Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Furthermore, he is into Translation work from Hausa his native language, and English to Hausa translation.
