Source text - Portuguese A permanência de alunos na escola certamente está vinculada a sua condição de membro na instituição de ensino e ao sucesso obtido no processo de afiliação institucional e intelectual. Manter-se na escola por muitos anos avançando progressivamente num percurso formativo significa que o indivíduo conseguiu se adaptar às exigências e às especificidades do ofício de estudante, conforme concepções da teoria da afiliação de Alain Colon (2008). Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal identificar na comunidade discente do IF Sertão-PE, Campus Serra talhada, os motivos causadores da não permanência dos alunos nos cursos técnicos de nível médio, mais especificamente das turmas do ensino médio integrado. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada nesse trabalho parte da observação das atividades cotidianas vivenciadas pela comunidade discente no dia a dia do campus. Ela está pautada na abordagem da etnometodologia que, por sua vez, busca uma melhor compreensão dos significados das informações apresentadas nas entrevistas, questionários e nos diálogos mantidos com os estudantes. Como a pesquisa ainda está em desenvolvimento, apresentamos apenas resultados parciais, dentre eles ressaltamos que identificamos nas turmas de primeiro ano uma maior dificultade na permanência, sobretudo pela natureza do curso técnico e problemas com a identificação com o curso matriculado. A reprovação em alguns componentes curriculares nessa primeira etapa do curso também é um grande complicador, sobretudo por conta da retenção desses alunos.
The permanence of students in school is certainly linked to their condition as educational institution members and to the success on the process of institutional and intellectual affiliation. Keeping on the school for many years progressing on a formative way means the individual has adapting to requirements and specificities of the student craft, according to the conceptions of Alain Colon’s affiliation theory (2008). This project has as mainly objective identify on students community of IF Sertão-PE, Campus Serra Talhada, the causes of students’ non-permanence in technical courses of high school level, mainly integrated high school classes. The research methodology used on this project starts from the observation of daily activities experienced by students on the day-to-day at the college. It is based on the ethnomethodology’s approach that, on the other hand, tries to have a better meanings comprehension of the information presented in interviews, questionnaires and dialogues between the students. As the research still in progress, we only present partial results, among them we emphasize a bigger permanence’s difficult on first year classes, above all by the nature of its course and problems about identifying with the enrolled course. The disapproval in some curricular components in this first stage of the course is also a great complication, above all because of their retentions.
