Source text - English The name Donald Trump does not appear in the index of Angry White Men. Nor does it appear anywhere else in the book, for that matter. This is not a book about Donald Trump. It's a book about his followers.
When I interviewed the white men whose stories formed the basis of the research, I picked up a sentiment among them, a feeling. They told me they felt pushed aside by Washington insiders, ignored by callous bureaucrats, and undone by a parade of others who challenged their previously unfettered access to the American Dream. Theirs were stories of being marginalized, "kicked to the curb by a Washington elite," as one of them put it. In this sense, Angry White Men is a book about Trump's followers, who were waiting for their leader to show up—even if they (and I) didn't know it at the time.
Like many Americans, I didn't see Trump's victory coming. I underestimated the depth of angry white men's rage and how others, including plenty of angry white women, might find it resonant as well. I missed how a steady parade of events and statements that might have easily disqualified anyone else—anti-immigrant stances, confessions of sexual assault, racist statements about Latinos, coded racist remarks about African Americans—barely made a dent in Trump's appeal. Indeed, it only solidified their conviction that this was a guy who felt their pain.

Al igual que a muchos americanos, la victoria de Trump me pilló desprevenido. Subestimé la profunda ira de muchos hombres blancos estadounidenses y hasta qué punto esta podía to- car la fibra de otras muchas personas. Incluidas un montón de mujeres blancas cabreadas. No aprecié lo mucho que un aluvión constante de gestos y afirmaciones capaces de desacreditar a cualquiera de un plumazo —sentencias antimigratorias, confesiones de agresión sexual, afirmaciones racistas sobre los latinos, frases de un racismo velado sobre los afroamericanos— no habían hecho la más mínima mella en el atractivo de Trump sino, más bien, habían servido para confirmar a sus votantes que aquel tipo compartía su dolor.

La preuve ? Il n'existe pas de programmation musicale prédéfinie. Elle s'élabore au quotidien et au gré des humeurs du Président qui distribue régulièrement des valises jaunes a pois noirs frappées d'un Z : l'embleme officiel de KaZantip. Ces valises renvoient a un vieux conte de fées russe dans lequel un homme rend les enfants heureux en leur offrant des bonbons qu'il sort d'une malle jaune. Ici, elles sont décernées a de jeunes Djs parrainés par le Président en personne. C'est un sésame. Le plus prisé du festival. Quiconque le détient peut se pointer sur n'importe quelle scene et être assuré de prendre les platines dans les deux heures.
Dans cet « hôpital psychiatrique » à ciel ouvert (selon les mots mêmes du Président), le naturisme est fortement encouragé et, de façon générale, tout est permis durant un mois dans les limites établies par la Constitution : baiser sur le sol si cela vous chante, vous mettre dans des états pas possibles si c'est votre true, ne pas dormir pendant huit jours ou vous comporter en chimpanzé si l'envie vous en prend, etc. Par contre, gare a quiconque se montre « chauvin », aurait les mains baladeuses « sans y avoir été invité » ou bien s'aventure a pisser sur la plage ! La, c'est embrouilles directes avec le service de sécurité, amende salée et expulsion immédiate du site, apres un petit remontage de bretelles maison ! Fred, notre tour manager, a été a deux doigts d'en faire l'expérience en 2012.

En este «manicomio» al aire libre (según las propias palabras del Presidente) se promueve encarecidamente el naturismo y, por lo general, todo está permitido durante un mes dentro de los límites establecidos por la Constitución: follar en el suelo si te da la gana, ponerte hasta el culo si es lo que te mola, no dormir durante ocho días o hacer el chimpancé si te da el venazo, etc. Por lo contrario, ¡mucho ojo con mostrarte «chovinista», ir de tocón «sin que te inviten» o atreverte a mear en la playa! En tales casos, ¡te ganas fijo una bronca con el servicio de seguridad, una multa bien guapa y la expulsión inmediata del lugar tras un pequeño rapapolvo cortesía de la casa! Dramatically announcing deep unilateral cuts to troop numbers along the borders of the USSR, he called for a ‘new world order’ in which ideological differences would melt away. The following summer, it was the turn of US president George Bush. With Iraqi troops in control of Kuwait, he pledged that an American-led international coalition would drive them out and predicted that:
Out of these troubled times, …a new world order can emerge.: a new era, freer from the threat of terror, stronger in the pursuit of justice, and more secure in the quest for peace. An era in which the nations of the world, East and West, North and South, can prosper and live in harmony. A hundred generations have searched for this elusive path to peace, while a thousand wars raged across the span of human endeavor. Today that new world is struggling to be born.
But what Gorbachev and Bush in their different ways foresaw as a moment of emancipation for the nations of the world looked to others like the onset of a universal tyranny. Suspicions of the occult forces that directed the fate of the world had been circulating within the Christian Right for several decades. Now they rose to the surface. In his 1991 best-seller, The New World Order, the tele-evangelist Pat Robertson warned Americans of the approaching Anti-Christ. A few years later an apocalyptic thriller hit the bookshops in which the Antichrist features prominently in the shape of a handsome, articulate and charismatic young Secretary-General of the United Nations. The antihero of Reverend Tim LaHaye’s best-selling Left Behind is a ruthless Romanian called Nicolae Carpathia, a man of violence masquerading as an apostle of peace who intends to use the UN to establish a global totalitarian dictatorship.
