Editing of English texts: Books, Articles and other writings Literary Translation; Art, Music and Philosophy Translation
I am a professional editor of English texts and also translate Spanish to English with a specialty in poetry, literature, religion and philosophy. I have a postgraduate degree in Literary Translation from the University Pompeu Fabra in Spain, an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and editorial training from the University of Chicago Graham School and the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders.
Previous to my literary work, I have fifteen years work experience in the financial markets in New York and London and subsequently also translate and edit texts related to economics and finance. My editorial projects include books, articles, letters and other writings. I offer substantive editing to improve the presentation of the content, copy editing to assure consistency within the text, and proofreading for style and grammatical correctness. I trained using the Chicago Manual of Style, which is the premier guide for literary publishers as well as many academic journals. In addition, I am a published writer in the area of culture and art; Some examples of my work are at: www.amazon.com/Carol-Finley;/e/B001KHXWES/
The reason I do editing and translation is because I enjoy working with the written word—every project is unique. Please feel free to get in touch for any further information. I would be happy to hear from you!
