Bio

I did first professional translation during my college
days at the Russian State University for Humanitarian where I
got PhD in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. After that I worked
two jobs as a researcher at the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and
Technological Information speclializing in corpus linguistics and
as a project manager at a localization company. The latter gave me invaluable
experience in the trade which helped me start my own career as an independent
translator.

Since 2006 I have been working as a
freelance translator/editor specializing in IT, Automotive, Marketing, Business
Communications, PR, Advertising, Legal, Finance, Electrical Engineering (over
12 mln words translated/edited
). My daily translation output is 3,500-4,000 words.
For urgent tasks I can work weekends and holidays.

Key career accomplishments

-           Since 2011 I have
supported bilingual communications of the Department of Communications and
Department of Government Relations of a major car maker (over 3 mln
words
).

-           I translated 6
books (all of them published) for two publishing houses in 2003-2010:

·       2009-2010 – R.

·       2007 – L.
Goldensohn, “Nuremberg process” (in print.)

·       2006 – E.

·       2005 – R.
Highfield, “The Science of Harry Potter: How Magic Really Works”

·       2003 – N. Braga, “Electronic Projects from the
Next Dimension: Paranormal Experiments for Hobbyists”

-           In 2012, I took charge
of a large project for one of my clients, gathered a team of translators,
including myself, and successfully translated two industrial standards (S1000D
and S3000L) and localized their inhouse software (over 300,000 words).

-           In 2002-2009, I
worked at the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technological Information
(Academy of Science) as a research assistant (Department of linguistic
research) and took part in developing and launching the Russian
National Corpus
.

-           In 2000-2002, I
worked as linguist researcher in the Dialing company that was developing a
RU-EN machine translation engine
