I am Canadian and have lived, studied and worked in Germany for more than 20 years. Languages have been my passion since early childhood and are what brought me to Europe. My German is on par with native speakers and I speak it without a foreign accent.
I studied German linguistics, English literature and sociology at the University of Freiburg. There I began translating as part of a student job and continued doing translations for the university, various NGOs as well as for a range of private clients.
I also completed a teaching degree and have taught English at a German private school.
Since the summer of 2014 I have made translation my full time occupation.
Since then I have passed the state examinations in translation and interpreting and am a sworn translator and interpreter for the state of Baden-Württemberg. My fields of specialization are the social studies. I am especially passionate about human rights, deradicalization, and democratic education.
