Spanish to English: Espantos de agosto - Gabriel García Márquez General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Translation - English Terrors of August - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The castle was, in fact, enormous and somber. But in broad daylight, with a full belly and a happy heart, Miguel's story seemed nothing more than one of the practical jokes he told to entertain his guests. The eighty-two rooms that we walked through unsurprisingly after nap-time, had to endure all kinds of moves from their successive owners. Miguel had completely restored the ground floor; he had a modern marble-floor bedroom built, a sauna and fitness facilities, and also the terrace with fiery-colored flowers where we had had lunch in. The second floor, which had been used the most throughout the centuries, was a series of rooms with no special features, with furniture from different époques yet abandoned to oblivion. But in the upper floor there was a pristine bedroom, where it seems, time had forgotten to pass. It was Ludovico's room.

I have always loved languages in general. Thanks to my father's work, I attended a North American School in the Middle East, where I was exposed to different cultures and languages.
Since that experience, and back in Argentina, I began studying English and Japanese. In 2008, I decided I would become a translator.
In 2011, I obtained BA in Translation at I.S.P.A. 9251 "Pago de los Arroyos" in Rosario, Argentina and have been working for direct clients ever since. Before obtaining my degree, I participated in several translation projects as a consultant and volunteered as Interpreter.
I started working for different translation agencies in 2014. Whenever I have free time from projects, I attend ProZ webinars in different fields, especially pertaining to the Video-Game Localization Industry.
