Bio
Based in Japan between 1984 and summer 2017, I now live in the UK. I have been working as a freelance translator for over 30 years, mainly English to French - various types of documents in a wide array of technical fields, such as fashion, marine products, motorcycles, consumer electronics, professional video equipment, IT, etc. I also offer proofreading and audio transcription in French.
I have worked in the 1990s as an in-house translator in Japanese to French for overseas cooperation projects by JICA in relation to topographic mapping, Geographic Information Systems and groundwater development.
I have started to branch out toward software localisation, following a course by Imperial College London in 2013.
I currently use a Mac OS X computer, with MS Word, OmegaT, installed. I also have SDL Studio 2014 installed on Windows 7 using Parallels Desktop 9. I have experience in web design using XHTML, CSS and Wordpress.
