Para empezar, ¿qué es el acto mágico según Jodorowsky? ¿Cómo pasar del acto onírico al acto mágico? Bueno, como ya he dicho, fue en México donde adquirí cierto dominio del acto onírico. Si Chile era un país poético, México es un país totalmente onírico en el que el inconsciente no cesa de aflorar. Cualquier persona un poco sensible percibirá allí esta dimensión, sentirá la presencia del sueño en la textura misma de la realidad mexicana. Aunque también se puede vivir diez años allí sin captar siquiera el México mágico. En la misma ciudad de México hay todo un mundo de brujos al que a los extranjeros desinformados les cuesta mucho entrar. Cuando la gente no se encuentra bien, o tiene dificultades en los negocios, acude a una bruja que realiza una especie de limpieza purificadora. Con ese fin, te frota todo el cuerpo con hierbas empapadas en agua bendita. Es una práctica muy corriente, y no solamente entre gentes del pueblo. Intelectuales y políticos no dudan en entregarse a ella, puesto que la brujería forma parte de la vida mexicana. Entre estos brujos pueden encontrarse, desde luego, curanderos expertos en hongos alucinógenos y plantas medicinales. Los hay que conocen hasta tres mil hierbas. Otros utilizan exclusivamente excrementos de animales. Existen también criaturas extrañas que provocan fenómenos tan peculiares que no se sabe si son magia o superchería. Por ejemplo, recuerdo a una mujer de un pueblecito remoto que se presenta siempre apenas cubierta con una camiseta, mostrando unas puntas de acero que brotan de todo su cuerpo.

My name is Ines Moldavsky and I am a professional translator with more than a decade of

I was born in Argentina and raised in Israel in a bilingual household, speaking both Spanish and Hebrew. Between 2018 and 2020 I have studied and worked in the United States,
acquiring in-depth professional knowledge of the English language. Since 2009 I
have been working as freelance translator, on both short and long-term
projects, with various translation agencies and high-profile end clients, such
as Apple, Samsung, Dell, Elbit Systems and Netflix.
I have an MFA degree in fine arts and critical studies from The School of Art Institute of Chicago, and a BFA degree from the
Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. During my studies, I've dealt with highly challenging academic texts, both in
English and Hebrew, which I found very helpful for attaining an advanced
level of reading and writing comprehension in both languages.
One of the aspects of translation work that I find most
rewarding is the creative challenge of finding and formulating the right way to
convey meaning across different languages.
