Over the years, I spent a lot of time reading books, playing games and watching TV both in English and French. As a native French speaker, it always irritated me when I had to explain my friends why this book was not as good as the original, how the translators did not bother translating this play on words or how they did not see this subtle reference.
Aware of the significant loss of quality we sometimes find in all sorts of translations, more particularly in video games, I put all my efforts in providing the best translation possible. I try to act as a cultural and linguistic bridge between the English-speaking world and French people.
For these reasons, I only focus on the fields in which I have an extensive knowledge:
Video games
After spending 6 months in a video game company in Germany, I worked on several projects.
I started with the MMORPG Atlantica Online with more than 500 000 words of in-game content. Afterwards, I worked on several famous games like Fallout New Vegas, The Witcher 3, Mortal Kombat or Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Rumble. I translated and proofread Playstation 3 & 4, Xbox One and 360, Wii & WiiU, Nintendo DS, PSP and PC games as well as Iphone, Android, browser and Facebook games.
Tourism, marketing and advertising
The first company which employed me as a translator was an online marketing company advertising for travels, theaters and hotels. I was given the opportunity to work with the marketing department and followed several workshops about marketing/advertising. Since then, I have been working on several tourism websites as well as websites, brochures and all sorts of document requiring a "young and trendy" approach.
Website and apps localization
Thanks to my knowledge of html, online marketing, search engine optimization and computer terminology I have been trusted with the translation of many websites. You can find samples of my work all over the internet! Have a look: Website builder, NeylPride Bikes or Verisign.
Working with the fields I am familiar with is, I think, the best way to provide quality translations.
I understand that punctuality is also very important and I never missed a deadline.
Quality, speed, competitive rates : everything an employer expects.
A few messages from clients, reviewers, agencies I worked with and continue working with:
"I just wanted to point out that I proofread a lot of video games translations, and it is not often that I have such a good one. The translator made plenty of research and found perfect workarounds for tricky parts. The language used is perfect for the game. It was a pleasure to proofread! Please give my compliments to the translator."
"If all translation/scorecard evaluations were as simple and straightforward!! This was a well done job. You can be proud to have this linguist on board."
"I’ve just finished reviewing the file, and I am very pleased with your work. I found you and your translator incredibly easy to work with."
"Thank you for making this project a success!"
"I would like to say that we are very satisfied with your work, I have received some great feedback about you from our Project Managers and would like to continue our collaboration for many years to come."
"Not only was the client happy with the glossary translation, XXX had also told me you had done an excellent job."
