Begin your visit on the fourth level in the XYZ Theater, which features a 13-minute film, Who We Are, celebrating the vitality and diversity of XYZ life.
Take a Highlights Tour. Tours last 45 minutes to 1 hour. All tours assemble in the XYZ Atrium on the first level. Check at the Welcome Desk or the museum’s website for additional times and special tours.
The XYZ Atrium is the heart of the building and your point of entry into the museum. It is a gathering place for music, dance, cultural events, and tours. From here, elevators will take you to the exhibitions on the second, third, and fourth levels.

The vertical loads are carried by reinforced concrete columns from roof to basement without transfer. The roof slab is also reinforced concrete to limit the transfer of noise from rooftop plant, however as the footfall vibration criteria are not relevant at that level, a thinner slab can be used. Major plant is supported on reinforced concrete plinths with pipework and chimney elements supported by steel frames. Steel frames are also required to support the cladding and lift the pv cells above the level of the cladding.
In the central atrium area the bridge crossing splitting the two full height atrium will be constructed from steel with a movement joint at one end.
The laboratory buildings will be clad with glazing over the full height of the floor (blanked off in the service void). On the outside of each block this will be over clad with shading elements, with a void between the two elements to allow access for cleaning.
At levels 2 and 3 the plaza side of the laboratories has an accessible balcony. This is to be formed in insitu concrete with a thermal break between the two slabs. This will be a proprietary product. The walkable balcony on the outside of the laboratory buildings will be procured as part of the cladding package.
