ProZ.com powwow: Christmas Powwow in November

November 29, 2008, 3:00 pm
United KingdomNottinghamIn personEnglish
Why not combine early Christmas shopping in Nottingham with a cup of tea or drink with some friendly translators? This powwow will take place from 3 p.m. on Saturday 29th November.

Like last time the venue is the café bar at Shaw's (www.shawsrestaurant.co.uk). Shaw's is easy to find at 20-22 Broad Street, Nottingham, NG1 AL, next to the Broadway cinema. See here for a map: http://www.viewnottingham.co.uk/restaurants/shaws-maps-48126.html

The closest places to park are the multi-storey car parks on Fletcher Gate or Stoney Street. If you are coming by tram you can alight at The Lace Market stop.

Look forward to seeing you there!

PS. The German Christmas market and outdoor ice rink are back again this year - visit Market Square from 19 November!

A good day out in Nottingham Dec 1, 2008

Good to meet so many friendly faces, old and new and very new - I think Lydia must surely have a claim on being the youngest PowWower ever! She definitely needs a profile so she can start collecting KudoZicon_smile.gif Have a great Christmas all.

Thank you so much for making our day out with Miss Widmann a success. I shall discuss profile matters with her. Have to see if Babyish is a language option. Looking forward to my next Powwow in the Summer!

Thanks indeed Sarah for organising this powwow. I had a lovely time and it was nice to see such a large group of friendly faces. Lovely location too! I've added the photos I took, so hopefully you should be able to view these soon. All the best everyone. Have a great Christmas and New Year, and see you at the next event!

Thanks for including me! Dec 1, 2008

I was pleased to be able to join even if it was for a short while (or looong as my daughter was moaning afterwards). I hope to be able to join without kids the next time. In the meantime, have a lovely Christmas.

Maria

Bedankt! Dec 2, 2008

I had a good time as well, and it was lovely to meet Lydia. I vaguely recall singing before I left, even though I didn't have that many... If anyone is still wondering about our crazy Dutch ways, you can find more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas. Happy holidays!
