Dear Robert,
I hope this email finds you well!
'We have a large German Dutch translation project and we are wondering if you would be interested in joining our team. The total wordcount exceeds 5 million words.
The text is general and you can work when it suits you, day or night, full time or part time, no commitments in terms of deadlines and volumes you need to complete. No stress! You will be paid for what you complete. Also, you can skip any string that you may find difficult, time consuming or you simply don’t want to translate because it is against your beliefs or values. The string that you skip will be passed to other linguists.
There are no high demands on quality. 80% counted as a pass. The only requirement is not to use any Machine Translation software/tool (ex. Google Translate etc). The translation must be 100% human translation.
Language pair: German Dutch
Service: Translation & MTPE
Tool: Client’s online editor)
Deadline: No requirements'
The agency has a average LWA of 4.5, and a wopping 2.7 for the last 12 months.
Or it is a scam, or it is one of the strangest requests I received in years, but it IS food for my delete button.![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

And what does this mean? If I give a translator a score of 8/10 I consider it to be a very decent translation, not just 'a pass'.

Work is outdated as well as accountability.
Realize and become yourself, do some work to feed the machines whenever you please, and live a fulfilling life.
Machines are only there to help mankind live better and longer. That's what they told us. Value generated by those gratitude-inside machines will ultimately flow down to each individual on this planet for the better good of human society once the take-over is complete and human input is made marginal.

which I suppose you have if you live in the Netherlands. I had one when I was living in Belgium, but I don't need it any more since I moved back to Portugal. I rarely use my aircon (8 days each year at the most) but these days it's a must.

Not air conditioners, but the stupidity of mankind:

Now, try to work under temperatures of 40 degrees and above and add to all that these fires raging in Portugal... and beyond Portugal.
Robert, I'm sorry for getting off topic.
PS: While I am writing this, I could see a bird suffering from this heat by crashing into my window's in the office.
