There is this particular outsourcer that has been posting identical or nearly-identical job offers (though I doubt they ever materialize) at least three times a week for the past six months.

What tools does ProZ have in place to prevent job posters from spamming providers with their offers? How can users report these jobs (not their actual content, but the act of spamming)? How many reports does it take for an outsourcer to be banned from job postings - a specific number, please. Th

This is helpful. You have forgotten the answer to my last question, though - how many reports? In other words, how worthwhile is it for me to even try and report the outsourcer?

Ways to prevent notifications of repeated job postings Mar 7, 2016

Dear Michal,

If you are receiving unwanted job offers directly through your profile, note that you can block certain senders from contacting you through this means here: http://www.proz.com/?sp=profile&sp_mode=settings&sp_submode=ef

Dear Michal,

If you are receiving unwanted job offers directly through your profile, note that you can block certain senders from contacting you through this means here: http://www.proz.com/?sp=profile&sp_mode=settings&sp_submode=ef

If, on the other hand, you do not want to be notified of jobs that a particular outsourcer is posting, you can opt out of receiving those messages by adding that outsourcer to your "Posters to filter" here: http://www.proz.com/dashboard/jobs/?sp_jobs_mode=flagsandfilters

In line with job posting rule 1.4, http://www.proz.com/siterules/jobs_posting/1.4#1.4 , I would encourage you to report repeated job postings to site staff through the support center. You can do that by clicking the [Report this job to site staff] link on the bottom of the job posting page. It is unlikely that an outsourcer will be banned from using ProZ.com for posting multiple repeated jobs, but appropriate action will be taken to prevent this activity.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Maria

appropriate action will be taken to prevent this activity.

Please be more specific. What are examples of this "appropriate action" and how many reports will it take for it to actually take place?

More details on action taken Mar 7, 2016

Dear Michal,

When a report like the one you mention here is received, the job poster is generally first contacted directly by site staff informing them of site rules and notifying them that their jobs will require vetting before being made visible, in order to ensure that their jobs are in line with those rules before being made public (and to prevent you from receiving multiple notifications for the same job).

If additional reports are received after this initial warning, then site staff may then consider placing administrative actions on the corresponding profile to include, in severe cases, blocking the outsourcer from posting jobs on the site until confirmation has been received that site rules are being adhered to.

Specific incidents and administrative actions are evaluated on a case by case basis, the details of which are not shared with third parties.

Best regards,

Maria
