I tend to stick to 'normal' office hours. Most of my friends are free outside office hours and I like to spend my free time with them.

I usually get up in the morning - around 8 am today, but basically whenever I feel like it, then work until lunchtime. After lunch I might have a lie down for about an hour, depending on how heavy the lunch and morning workload have been. Recently I've taken to watching a TV series (Supernatural) during/after lunch instead of the increasingly dispiriting midday news, and sometimes doze off for about half an hour while doing so, which amounts to the same (siesta). Between five and eight I usually work, then take the dog for her constitutional. After that I might come back to work again for anything from an hour to 3 for 4, depending on my workload again and/or if I feel like it (sometimes the entertainment options available are so uninspiring that working on a translation seems more tempting). Or then again, I might just do something else...
I tend to work slightly less at weekends, for example I seldom do any work after lunch on a Saturday/Sunday unless I really have to. Today is Friday, 11 am, and I'm going to knock off for an hour or so, and go and pick a cake I ordered earlier this week. It's a lovely day, so I'll go on my Superdink 300 and enjoy the fresh air

I wouldn't agree that daytime is necessarily the best. By having a flexible schedule, I am able to do a lot of errands and other activities during the day that otherwise I would have to forgo. For example, today I spent time at a garden center buying plants - which I would otherwise have to do on the weekend. It's nicer to work in the garden when the sun is out - unless you are Edna St. Vincent Millay:

My schedule is extremely flexible (I'm a freelancer after all) and it really depends on a lot of factors: quality of my sleep the night before, job deadline, etc., but I’m a late owl and in general my most productive time is late afternoon/evening...

I keep resolving to get into an earlier routine, but I am not convinced it is a good idea. Yesterday my husband had an early dental appointment. The day before, we had been out with the walking club, so we went to bed early and started the day early. (Well, comparatively... between 7 and 8 am.)

For most of the morning, I was simply groggy! Maybe it would help if I persisted, but by the afternoon I was feeling normal, so I worked in the evening, and started late today (i.e. at the normal time). Tea between 8 and 9, then I check the mails, but actually start work around 11.
I don't have to send children to school or even fit in with my husband's work - he is retired. I only have to meet my deadlines. Many of my clients in the UK are an hour behind us in Denmark, effectively two hours, as they start around 9 am and Danes start flexing in around 8 am.
I have always been a night owl by choice. Sunrises are just sunsets played backwards. The stars are beautiful after midnight, and in a couple of months it will be glorious Danish midsummer, when it barely gets dark at all. I love the light nights - it is a sheer waste to sleep through them, and at that time of year I don't miss a few of hours of sunlight while I take a nap!

I usually work days, but will often work in the evenings, as many clients are in the Euro time zone. I just work until it's done and then that's it. I try not to work too late at night unless it's a deadline. I like to stop after about 9 pm and just relax. I don't mind working on weekends especially if my work week has been light and I want to make up for it. This weekend I am working. I'm actually like Christine, a night owl, so I usually start midday. I like having flexible hours!

but not by choice. I am most productive in the afternoon, after 4 o'clock, but because the kids are in kindergarten 9 to 18, well, I'm most productive 9 to 18.
I used to work on weekends, but now I rarely do that because I prefer to have a nice time with my family. Oh, and I can't wait for June, when it will be warm enough to go camping at the seaside.. then my working week will have 4 days and my weekends 3  ... See more but not by choice. I am most productive in the afternoon, after 4 o'clock, but because the kids are in kindergarten 9 to 18, well, I'm most productive 9 to 18.
I used to work on weekends, but now I rarely do that because I prefer to have a nice time with my family. Oh, and I can't wait for June, when it will be warm enough to go camping at the seaside.. then my working week will have 4 days and my weekends 3  (unless I find a good energy bank & an even better solar charger.. then I will work directly from the beach!).

The nice thing about being a freelancer is choosing when and if you want to work. I tend to be at my most productive in the early morning so I have been known to get up at 5am. I need lots of breaks so I take the dogs out, chop vegetables, check Facebook, whatever. I always have a good lunch (with wine) and then a nap. If I have a lot of work I do it in the evenings too, but not if there's a Champions league match on! I have no problem about working at weekends at all.

I voted all day long, meaning at any time of the day or night, of course not all day long. My working/sleeping/etc. hours vary a lot, but I usually work more during the night, until about 4:00 am, when I am less interrupted by the phone, other people and noises all over the town. I have no doubt about the higher productivity at night. But I don't have regular or standard working hours. They may add up to anthing from 0 to 12 hours in a day, but it depends, of course, on the workload, as it happe...
