[webinar] We start the new year with a great webinar on 14 January at 4 pm UK time by Corinne MacKay on Translating for the International Development sector.
International development—translating for government agencies, contractors, NGOs and private foundations that work in developing countries– may be the biggest specialization you’ve never considered pursuing. In this session, we’ll look at a history of development players such as the United Nations and its programs and agencies, USAID and other public development agencies, and private charitable foundations, and the types of translations these entities need. We’ll also talk about some of the key concepts and trends in the international development sector today, and at what languages and specializations are the best fit for translators who want to explore this sector. It's aimed mainly at translators who are interested in translating for the international development sector, for translators with at least some translation experience. Newcomers to the profession are also welcome to join us, but should be aware of the above. Full information and how to book at this link:
