I have noticed that with the new Explorer there is not only a Favourites section (indicated by the little star at the top left-hand corner, something I didn't notice at first), but also a bookmarks section. What is the difference between the two supposed to be?

Yahoo and Google bookmarks

It is possible that you have allowed installation of Yahoo and or Google toolbars, which allow creation of bookmark folder so to enable the user, access the bookmarks on line from any computer.

Couldn't find any reference to Bookmarks in IE7, except the following, which is a quote from their Help (keyword: "bookmark"):
"Favorites, also known as bookmarks, are a convenient way to organize and link to webpages that you visit frequently."
They also mention "bookmarks" in the name of the export file, bookmarks.htm.

Go to 'Help'

in IE7 and search on 'bookmark'. You'll find that a favorite is 'bookmarked'. That is, added to your favorite list.

It's strange. They seem to both be on my toolbar. By the way, I can organise my favourites in Mozilla Firefox in alphabetical order - in fact Mozilla does it automatically. Is there any way of doing this in Internet Explorer? I now have tons of favourites and it can take a while trawling through them to get to the right one. Alphabetical order would make all the difference.
