Source text - Spanish 1.-RUTA ESCALADA
Zona Sayausí
Esta ubicada a 8 Km. al oeste, desde el centro de Cuenca, a una altura de 2700 msnm. Es la zona de escalada más cercana a la ciudad. Se trata de una roca situada frente al Río Tomebamba y a pesar de su baja altura, ofrece varias posibilidades de escalada, que va desde placas contraplomadas hasta fisuras y extraplomos. El sito es ideal para principiantes.
Las rutas indicadas en el presente material son el resultado de investigaciones realizadas por abridores o equipadores de rutas de escalas y los nombre de cada rutas han sido dados por anécdotas ocurridas en el momento de descubrirlas y practicarlas.
Rutas: Avalancha, Murciélago, Perfumes, Ceviche de trucha, Ceviche con Ají, Salto de la Trucha, Encebollado o Arista, Tuzazo, Mote Pillo, Dame tiempo, Hollín.
Zona Cajas
El Parque Nacional Cajas está localizado a 30 Km. al oeste de Cuenca. Es una zona de alta montaña con más de 230 lagunas, valles y picos que han sido cavados por antiguos glaciares. Su altura sobre el nivel del mar se encuentra entre los 3200 msnm. y los 4500 msnm. Es la zona con mayor potencial del país, para la escalada en roca.
Por el momento, existen alrededor de 30 rutas entre tradicionales y deportivas, algunas dentro del Parque y otras en las áreas vecinas. Los tres sectores más desarrollados del área son: Cochuma, Toreadora Chica y La Proa.
Debido a las bajas temperaturas del área, es recomendable llevar ropa abrigada. En El Cajas es común que el clima varíe repentinamente, dando paso a neblina y difícil orientación, por lo que se aconseja llevar siempre una brújula.
¿Cómo llegar?
En vehículo privado, dirigirse hacia el oeste de la ciudad, por la vía Cuenca – Guayaquil, hasta el sitio de parqueo de la zona a escalar. En transporte público es posible llegar tomando en la Terminal terrestre, cualquier bus con destino a Guayaquil que viaje por la vía del Cajas.

Sayausí Area
Located 8 km west of the center of Cuenca at an altitude of 2700 meters, this is the nearest climbing area to the city. This site is ideal for beginners.
The trails indicated in the following information are the result of research done by people who are experts in opening new climbing trails, and the names given to each trail come from anecdotes about things that happened while discovering or climbing them.

Cajas Area
Cajas National Park is located 30 km to the west of Cuenca. This is an area of high mountains with more than 230 lakes, peaks and valleys, formed by ancient glaciers. The altitude ranges between 3200 and 4500 meters. This is the area with the greatest rock climbing potential in the country.
Currently there are about 30 trails, including traditional and sport trails, within the Park as well as in the surrounding areas. The three most developed areas are: Cochuma, Toreadora Chica and La Proa.
Because of cold temperatures in this area, warm clothing is recommended. In El Cajas the weather often changes quickly. Fog may set in and make orientation difficult, so carrying a compass is always advised.
How to get there:
By car, head west of the city, on the Cuenca-Guayaquil Road, until you reach the parking area for the climbing trail. By public transportation, you can take any bus from the Terminal Terrestre (Bus Terminal) headed for Guayaquil along the road from Cajas.

HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.If the hot-water system has not been used for such a period, before using the dishwasher turn on all hot-water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during this time.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance of electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
