Bio
I am a native Spanish speaker and hold a BA in Languages, minor International Trade. Besides being my profession, it is also my passion where I put all my talent and dedication. Having also a multicultural family has led me to discover the value of many Hispanic countries culture, and I embrace them and use them in my journey of knowledge. Whether you are looking for a linguist committed to the excellence of the written work, I will be honoured to assist you in translation, editing, proofreading, and transcription.

Just to provide you with a general idea of how I process every project depending on the needs, please consider the following information:

Translation & Editing:
Prior to the starting of the project, I screen the files to confirm if your proposed turnaround and rates are feasible. If you are contacting multiple translators at the same time, I will appreciate it is mentioned in the email. Time is golden and as you look for the best translator whose cost meets your budget, it is appreciated that in advance I am advised of such procedure if you decide to move forward with another translator. Depending on the time zone you are, it may take between 1 to 8 business hours for me to reply. If you provide specific information, the content reference, and how the process will follow once it starts, this will also help me to check my schedule before providing my bid.

-Editable documents are analyzed in SDL Trados Studio 2019 -If the document has non-modifiable images, should the manual word count be up to 20 words, there is no charge.
-Please note that the format of some converted PDF files into MS Word will be affected, especially if it has diagrams or tables. Although as part of my translation skills, I can also assist with the formatting at no charge up to 5 pages. An extra reasonable charge will be applied should the project consist of over 5 pages. I am willing to negotiate depending on the actual needs. Please take into account that the turnaround may be subject to change.

I welcome edits that are completed on my work by a separate editor. If that is the case, please advise in advance when do you estimate I will receive the edited project and when do you need it back.

I will be happy to provide a free test of up to 150 words.

Only proofreading:

I will review the final Spanish version that needs to be reviewed one more time to ensure quality. I will assume your translation is good quality and during my review, I will do my best to be consistent with your previous translations. However, should the quality be compromised and I see the content needs to be re-translated, please note that I will charge a higher proofreading rate. Normally, I do not charge the target word count but I base it on the source word count (which is always less).

Formatting Verification:

I also check the formatting of files created by your typesetter. While I assume the translation is already good quality. I will ensure the text flows in terms of readability. Please ask for hourly rates. If additionally, you require proofreading, please let me know beforehand to discuss reasonable rates.

I also review voiceover recordings and subtitles inserted in videos.

If transcription is needed in Spanish, please consider about 140 words per minute. Rates are per hour, not per minute video.

*Disclaimers:
Finally, it is at my discretion to reject any questionable contents that will not meet my professional and moral ethics.

Due to confidentiality agreements, I am not able to provide you with samples of past projects I have completed.

However, please feel free to check this video which shows a free sample of one of the many volunteering translation projects I did:

Priscila
