A philologist by
education and a specialized text translator by experience and passion. My
adventure with text translation started during my studies, namely - in 2001.
When it comes to my interest in technical texts, I discovered it while
translating a set of training sessions for a laminated glass production
company. Since then, I have been constantly polishing and improving my
expertise in the field. I have translated several hundred thousand (or more)
pages of texts from various areas. A remarkable majority of them have been
those pertaining to technical and legal issues.
I improved my German skills
while staying for 6 years in Germany and while studying at the LMU University
in Munich for 4 years. What is even more, I participated in a series of courses
in economy, PR, and IT at the University in Munich and at the German IHK. Working
for the Recovery Department of the German InterCard AG Company, as well as for
the Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz L.L.C. law firm made it possible for me to obtain
more experience in translating texts from the legal sector, including various
agreements, NCR extracts, attestations, court rulings, proxies, authorizations,
etc.
I am open to new technologies
and therefore I utilize CAT tools to support my work, namely: SDL Trados Studio 2022, MemoQ 9.12 and Across Premium v7. CAT tools are the guarantee of maintaining terminology-related accuracy. Also, they
allow me to constantly improve the quality of my translations. Furthermore, I
take advantage of quality assurance pieces of software for verification-specific
purposes. Those are xBench 3.0 and Verifika 3.2.
After 12 years of
translator-specific practice, I have become specialized in translating texts
from the following fields:
law and administration-specific translations (legal
acts, notarial deeds, commercial register extracts, proxies, agreements,
judicial and official documents, etc.)
commercial translations (ongoing company
correspondence, waybills, company-specific documents, invoices, etc.)
standard translations (private correspondence,
e-mails, cover letters, and CVs).
Since 2006, I have been doing
translations for regular clients, but I will gladly start cooperating with new
companies.
