Source text - Spanish La fiesta estaba saliendo tan bien que no sabía cómo decirles que no me iba a suicidar. La felicidad se podía leer en los ojos de todos mis familiares, aun cuando eran conscientes de que ese día yo debía morir. Incluso había venido el primo Braulio, como perdonándome lo mal que se lo hice pasar cuando éramos niños. Fotografías, regalos (no para mí, claro, hubiera sido estúpido), abrazos, botellas de champán abriéndose sin cesar. No recuerdo un momento semejante junto a mi familia. Ni siquiera en Navidad. Lamentaba defraudarlos, pero aquel ambiente tan relajado, ver a todos juntos pasándolo bien, me hizo cambiar de idea.
Translation - English The party was going well. So well that I wasn't sure how to announce that I wasn't going to kill myself after all. You could see the joy in the eyes of my family members even though they knew I was going to die that day. Even my cousin Braulio had come, as if to forgive me for the rough times I put him through when we were children. There were photos, gifts – none for me, of course; that would have been ridiculous – and hugs, plus the endless popping of champagne. I don't remember ever having a moment like this with my family. Not even at Christmas. I was sorry to disappoint them, but seeing that lighthearted scene and watching everyone have a great time made me change my mind.
