I am a native English speaker and have been living in Italy for nearly ten years now. In that time I have not only learned the language but also the culture and mindset of the Italian people. The other aspect I consider essential for a translator is an excellent command of one's native tongue, and with my experience as an English teacher I am not only precise in my writing, but also fairly eloquent, I would like to think.
I only translate into English, sticking to one's mother tongue being a necessity for accurate, fluid results. I only translate from Italian, as I feel that concentrating on one pair gives the best results and I would not feel comfortable offering combinations for which I cannot guarantee a 100% perfect service. I also limit the fields in which I work - while technical areas give me little trouble, I have had to decline financial and legal projects on occasion as I have little expertise in these areas.
I take pride both in the quality of my work and the professionalism I show in my business dealings. I endeavour to give the best possible quote in terms of price and delivery date and frequently deliver before the agreed deadline.
Having an IT background, I am able to offer translations of virtually any file type, and I work with the latest version of the world's number one CAT tool - Trados 2011 - or Tageditor when required. I also have redundant workstations and a RAID backup system, meaning computer problems are unlikely to affect my deadlines!

- Millions of words translated for agencies and outsourcers, with a strong focus on the automotive sector (supercars, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles), as well as all kinds of technical work (user manuals, repair manuals, software manuals, process control etc. for manufacturers of machinery and appliances, software, hardware)

- Work for Italian production companies (screenplays, treatments, pressbooks etc.), one of whom enjoyed great success at the David di Donatello Awards (the Italian Oscars) a few years back

- Translations for some important doctors here at Bologna Sant'Orsola and Maggiore, including an article published in a major American medical journal, and many other scientific articles

- Numerous marketing, general and literary texts in all fields imaginable; reports; market research, survey responses etc.
