I am using trial version of WordFinder 10 with Nordstedts's Swedish to English dictionary. However, I can't link to WordFinder via Wordfast when attempting to selecting it as dictionary. Is this simply because it is a trial version? Will it dictionary addition work upon purchase of full version?

Most possibly no. Haven't tried it, but I cannot think of a reason why it should not be able to work properly with the trial version.

Why not simply use the WordFinder shortcut? Jul 2, 2009

I haven't tried to link Wordfast to WordFinder as I see no real advantage in doing so. The standard keyboard shortcut to look up a word in WordFinder is better to use as it works in any program - not just in Wordfast.

When I started using WordFinder the shortcut was Alt+Right Shift button to look up in WordFinder. I don't remember what it is as standard in recent versions as I always change it to what I'm accustomed to. Just set up your preferred shortcut in the program settings of

Perhaps it's a case of needing to learn about keys in wordfast Jul 2, 2009

Thanks for comments so far....

I have now discovered that the file when accessed from Add Dictionary function in Wordfast is actually called something different to what is listed when you go direct to Program Files. However, Wordfast says it cannot link to this external application when I press dictionary icon but that could because I still have to enter keys to establish the link (which looks rather midboggling at the moment when looking at the instructions in the manual.

Activating WordFinder using hotkeys within segmented fields doesn't work which I guess is why there is the above preocedure to follow.

You are right, Ulf! Jul 2, 2009

After all that, it seems that you have to close the translation in Wordfast before you can use an external dictionary anyway! Shame they didn't say that earlier rather than well into the section on Dictionary in the manual I thought it might be useful to access dictionary while working within segmentation field. Never mind. I will just use WordFinder as usual then. Thanks. Much appreciated.
