Hi there!
My daughter collects coins and always asks me to bring new ones from all my trips.
If there's anybody interested in collecting coins I'll bring and few handfuls of Ukrainian ones in exchange for yours.
Cheers,
Oleg

Hi Oleg!
I don't collect coins, but I will be glad to give you a set of Croatian coins.
We have in fact 9 different coins: 1 kuna, 2 kuna and 5 kuna coins, and then the Croatian cents: 1 lipa, 2 lipa, 5 lipa, 10 lipa, 20 lipa and 50 lipa coins.
I hope this will make her happy | | | Oleg Rudavin Ukraine Local time: 17:15 Member (2003) English to Ukrainian + ... TOPIC STARTER Thanks for the info Kristina! | Feb 27, 2009 |
I'm not sure this thread is followed by a great number of potential participants of the Macedonia conference, but anyway...
The 'kuna' and 'lipa' are funny but quite Slavic-sounding names!
Atanas, is there any chance to find coins that were in circulation before the Communist era?
Cheers,
Oleg | |

Hi Oleg,
Maybe I could find some "socialist" coins, but not a complete set I am afraid. I will see what I can do.

I used to be an avid coin collector in my teens, but that was in the last century
I'm ready to bring along some current HU coins if anyone is interested.
The first time I heard about Ohrid was also connected to this passion. When I was in Bulgaria in 1981, I found a beautiful and large coin of 2 Leva. On the flip side I found the inscription "Kliment Ohridski". Then I looked at the map and I noticed that Ohrid was in Yugoslavia. This seemingly unresolvable conflict made me more interested in history.
Now I know much more about the turbulent history of this region, and actually I would be happy to see Ohrid for the first time.
In the past 10 years I developed a niche collecting hobby. Now I'm interested in maps and atlases, and especially historical atlases. If any of you can find a good quality locally produced historical atlas in your respective countries, I'd be all too happy to buy them if you bring them to Ohrid.
Map inscriptions and legends may be in your local language, no need to search for an English one. If there are two separate volumes for international and national history, I would prefer only the national volume. If there's a separate version for schools and a separate one for "adults", I would prefer the more serious (i.e. more detailed) one.
Thanks a million
