English to Spanish Medical Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)

Dear fellow translators,

I was hoping you could help me with a term. I'm translating an article about the importance of quality when preparing slides for the microscope. It talks about three different types of slide preparations but I haven't been able to find suitable translations (I'll post those other two terms separately). See some context below:

'Squash preparations may be preferred for viscous fluid, such as synovial fluid...'

I have read there is a technique in Spanish called 'técnica de squash,' but I am not sure whether this is the correct term.
