+1 to writeaway's remark. The Latin c.s. isn't common my area (not to say that it isn't used). We default to et al. Or, in Germanese Nerd Vernacular, we might even say "und Co." or "& Co." Really depends on how narrowly targeted your text needs to be and what the tone is. The height of the brow, IMO, is heavily correlated in this order: "c.s." > "und Co." > "et al" > "& Co."
