Source text - English Purpose: To develop a “hitting point pressure sensing system” for table tennis.
Method: By using PVDF to make the pressure-sensing elements to design and establish the system, and testing the system with two pitching machines (Brand A and Brand B) to examine the pressure sensing system.
Results: The experiment results show that the hit rate of Brand A pitching machine is higher than that of Brand B, the rate for backspin to hit top left corner and top right corner is higher, the rate for right sidespin to hit top left corner and lower left corner is higher, and the rate for left sidespin to hit top right corner and lower right corner is higher.
Conclusion: This research investigates into the hitting point pressure sensing system, and after testing on the hit rate with the pitching machines, discovers that the system is capable of sensing the correct hitting point of table tennis.
Translation - Chinese 目的:開發出『桌球擊球落點壓力式感測系統』。方法:利用一種以聚亞二氟乙烯為材料所製成的壓電聚合物膜片(PVDF)之壓力感測元件的特性進行感測系統之設計與建立,並以A牌與B兩種不同品牌發球機進行感測系統實驗測試。結果:A牌發球機命中率比B牌發球機高,而下旋球命中左上角及右上角的機率較高,右側旋球擊中左上角及左下角的機率較高,左側旋球擊中有上角及右下角的機率較高。結論:本研究所開發的桌球擊球落點感測系統經由發球機發球測試驗證結果良好,的確可以準確的感應出桌球擊球落點位置。

Angy Chen is an assistant professor of interpreting at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, College of Liberal Arts, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan. She holds a PhD in interpreter education from the University of Leeds. Her research of interest includes the learning and development experiences of interpreters, and the use of narrative accounts to demonstrate how trainee interpreters develop to become professional interpreters.
